Cottage Description
Situated in the trees overlooking Clear Lake,
RyBell Retreat is a spacious open-plan three bed cottage that provides everything you and your family need to enjoy all that cottage life
has to offer in a peaceful and relaxing getaway!
Clear Lake lives up to its name - the water is a beautiful clear blue/green colour due to its limestone base that is ideal for swimming, canoeing or enjoying from the large south-facing dock.
RyBell is an all-season cottage with gas furnace heating and hot water for comfort in the winter.
The cottage has 4 bedrooms (1 Queen, 1 Double, 2 Twins & 1 Double pull out). The maximum occupancy is 8 people.
Bedrooms have a ceiling fan for comfort on hot summer nights. There is ample closet space with hangers in each room. Bedding (pillows, comforters and blankets) is provided, but you will need to bring your own linens and towels.
The living room has a large window looking out over the lake and the trees, a view that is beautiful in any season!
For all your entertainment needs, the living room has a fully equipped media centre including: TV for DVDs & a VHS player (remember those!?) along with an extensive collection of movies and CD’s for kids and adults to enjoy. In addition, there are lots of books for both adults and kids. Games night? No problem, RyBell also has a large selection of board games that the whole family can enjoy!
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need to prepare family meals. There is a full-sized fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, a large selection of pots & pans and the all important coffee machine!! The numerous cupboards provide ample storage for all provisions. See ‘Amenities’ for a full list of kitchen supplies.
The dining room has a large table with seating for 6 that is ideal for family meals and games nights!
There are 1.5 bathrooms, one room with a full tub/shower (for bathing those young ones before bedtime) and the other with a toilet and sink/vanity.
The washer/dryer are both fully functional but we ask no bleach products be used as they are hazardous to the septic system.
The deck overlooks the lake and runs the length of the cottage, with a fully screened-in section. For eating al fresco, the deck has a couple of options: a dining table with seating for 6 and an additional lounging area, that is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or evening drinks!
The screened-in section has a comfortable sectional sofa to sit and enjoy the serene view of the lake, the trees and wildlife, whilst keeping the bugs out!!
Bugs are a part of the cottage experience, so remember to pack bug spray!
The cottage is not for parties but only for families looking to enjoy the calm and serenity of the Ontario northlands.
The south-facing dock means that you get uninterrupted sun all day and is fully equipped for enjoying hot summer days.
Access to the lake is via a little path and some steps...75 to be exact!
Mobility is necessary.
There are plenty of options to keep you and the kids active, both in and on the water, with: a canoe, two kayaks and a paddleboat!
There is a selection of older lifejackets in various sizes, but please bring your own to guarantee the correct fit and meets all health and safety standards.
When it’s time to chill and relax there are sun loungers, table and chairs, with umbrella.
All you need to pack is your bedding/towels, clothes and food and you are good to go!

GUEST ACCESS
RyBell Retreat and the neighbouring cottage each have their own driveways but up at the top of the driveways they both merge into a shared space. There is ample room to park your cars.
Just letting you know there is a cottage next door that has a portion of shared drive space but there is nothing else shared.
Location
Minden is the closest town, 20 minutes north on HWY #35.
There are many option on Minden for supplies, including a Foodland, LCBO & Beer Store, restaurants & cafes.
For a sweet treat, a visit to the Kawartha Diary Ice Cream shop is a must!
For a scenic view Panoramic Park, just off HWY 35 in the town has beautiful views of the surrounding hills and forest, which is particularly beautiful in the Fall.
A good way to explore the town is a stroll along the pretty Minden River Walk and a browse in the local stores.
